Bus Zone Safety
A reminder to all families that our school’s bus zone is a dedicated area determined by Main Roads for buses only. For everyone’s safety, please do not drop off or pick up students in this zone between the hours of 8am-9am and 3pm-4pm.
Using the bus zone for quick stops puts students, bus drivers, and other motorists at risk, as it blocks visibility and can cause congestion. Please use the designated parking areas that are available near the school (including the Function Centre Car Park) to ensure that all students are safely dropped off to school each day.
Picking Up on Time
We know that at times afternoons can sometimes get busy. In order to keep all students safe and cared for, please aim to pick your child up on time each day. If you’re running late, please call to inform the school – students can then be safely supervised until you arrive.
Parent Volunteers - new Blue Card Requirements
Please be aware that as of September 20, 2025, ALL Parents, when working with any student other than their own children, will be required to have a Blue Card to volunteer in schools. This is a new requirement and must be explicitly followed by all schools as of this date.
We thank you in your understanding of this, as the safety of all students at our school is our highest priority.

We are currently processing Prep 2026 Enrolments.
Thank you for returning your completed forms to the office.

Homework Centre for Years 3-6 students
The Department of Education has funded our Homework Centre for another 12 months for which we are truly grateful. Homework is an important part of every child’s education but finding time to help children get their homework done can be a challenge for busy families. Homework Centres provide a supervised and suitable learning environment in which students can complete their homework before they go home.
Mrs Fletcher and Miss Edwards manage our Homework Centre each Wednesday from 3pm – 4.15pm in the Library for students in Years 3-6.
If you would like your child to attend Homework Centre, please contact a member of the Admin Team or email admin@pittsworthss.eq.edu.au

Consent & Payment for Sporting Trials
For Parents and Carers nominating children for Qld Schools Sporting Trials (9 years - 12 years):
There is a clear process that parents & carers must follow when nominating their child to participate in a Qld School Sports Trial. It is the parent's responsibility to ensure the "School Sport Trials Permission & Student Health Information Form" is returned to the school within the specified timeframe.
The Principal or HPE Teacher is required to sign the "School Permission section" of this form to give approval for your child to attend. The form then needs to be returned to you and handed to officials on the day of the trial. The trial fee must also be paid via Qkr! by the due date for your child to be eligible to attend. Pittsworth State School cannot see who has paid or not paid, as we do not manage payments and registrations.
Failure to return the form and/or pay the trial fee by the due date will render your child ineligible to attend the trial. This decision is made by the zone convenor and not Pittsworth State School.
No form = No trial. No payment = No trial. As a parent/carer of a sporting child, nomination and payment is your full responsibility.

Playground Upgrades
It’s finally here! Last week our upgrades to the Junior Playfort were installed. These upgrades have been funded by the hard efforts of the Pittsworth SS P&C. We hope all of the junior students are enjoying trying out the new equipment.
Book Fair
Thank you to Leanne for organising this year’s Book Fair and to all of the volunteers that assisted her. We were able to raise enough money to purchase a 124 new books for the school! These books will be spread between the library and the school’s “Read with me” program. Happy reading!
Club Pittsworth Raffle
Thank you to everyone that came to Club Pittsworth last Friday night to support the P&C raffle. We were able to raise $345. Thank you also to Club Pittsworth for once again giving us this opportunity.
Junior Athletics Carnival
Junior Athletics Carnival is on this Thursday, 4th September. Unfortunately, due to a lack of volunteers, we are unable to open a canteen at the carnival this year. Please ensure students are sent to school with a packed lunchbox. Bottlebrush Café will be on site with a coffee van for all your coffee and snack needs.
Pittsworth Sprints
Pittsworth SS P&C have again been asked to help set up and dismantle the temporary fencing for the sprints for a large monetary donation. As the saying goes, many hands make light work and this activity is no exception.
Please click the link to let us know if you are able to assist with set up THIS Saturday, 6th September (from 2pm) and/or dismantle on Sunday 14th September (from 3pm)
