Curriculum
"Year 6 Leadership Day", written by 6MP
Did you know? School can be exciting, challenging and rewarding.
Did you know? It takes hard work, patience, teamwork and leadership.
On Friday 28 February, our year 6 cohort were lucky enough to visit Bundamba State High school where we had teachers and high school students guiding us through various rock-climbing challenges.
And challenging it was. Hard work, patience, teamwork and leadership were all needed for a successful day.
We then got to unwind at the park, having lunch and winding back the clock to our younger years rolling down grassy hills after a big morning.
Our class, along with the rest of the school, were focusing on representing ourselves and our school positively.
Reflecting on our leadership day, we chose the words "exciting, challenging and rewarding" to describe our experience.
In 6MP we are working on using these positive words to frame our perspective on school.
Did you know? School can be exciting, challenging and rewarding.

Consent & Payment for Sporting Trials
For Parents and Carers nominating children for Qld Schools Sporting Trials (9 years - 12 years):
There is a clear process that parents & carers must follow when nominating their child to participate in a Qld School Sports Trial.
It is the parent's responsibility to ensure the "School Sport Trials Permission & Student Health Information Form" is returned to the school within the specified timeframe.
The Principal or HPE Teacher is required to sign the "School Permission section" of this form to give approval for your child to attend. The form then needs to be returned to you and handed to officials on the day of the trial.
The trial fee must also be paid via Qkr! by the due date for your child to be eligible to attend. Pittsworth State School cannot see who has paid or not paid, as we do not manage payments and registrations.
Failure to return the form and/or pay the trial fee by the due date will render your child ineligible to attend the trial. This decision is made by the zone convenor and not Pittsworth State School.
No form = No trial
No payment = No trial
As a parent/carer of a sporting child, nomination and payment is your full responsibility.
SW Schools Futsal Competition
On Tuesday 4 March, seven PSS boys had the wonderful opportunity to play as the PSS U12 futsal team in the SW Schools Futsal Competition. Brodie, Preston, Beau, Oliver, Max, Patrick and Lucas had a terrific day of fast feet and fast balls, learning skills and playing many games of futsal against other schools in the region. The boys played super well, showing skill and great sportsmanship.

Club Pittsworth Raffle
Thank you to everyone who went to Club Pittsworth to support the PSS P&C raffle on Friday night and to Jake and Max for doing the rounds for us. We were able to raise $331. A massive thank you to Club Pittsworth for again giving us this opportunity.
Art Exhibition
Our next big event, the school Art Exhibition is coming up on Friday 2 May. Your students have been very busy in their Art lessons creating their own pieces for the show. Keep your eyes peeled for further information.
Mother’s Day Stall 2025
Our annual Mother’s Day Stall will be held Friday 9 May. The P&C is currently seeking donations. The P&C purchase gifts for the stall but also rely on donations so that each child can buy a couple of items for the special lady in their lives. A great way to think about donating is to give the equivalent number of gifts as you have children at the school. You now also have the option of donating money rather than an item through the Qkr App. Simply choose the “P&C Fundraising” option from the menu, followed by the value and quantity you wish to donate.
Book Club
Reminder: Book Club Orders close 20 March.
VOLUNTEERS – MANDATORY TRAINING
There is a small amount of mandatory training that must be completed in order to volunteer at school. It is quite quick to complete (10-15 minutes). Please sign the form at the back and return to the school office.
NEXT P&C MEETING
Our next general meeting will be held at 6.30pm, Thursday 24th April in the Pittsworth Function Centre.
