What a fantastic way to begin the school year! Our Fancy Dress Ball was AWESOME with over 250 people attending the night of loud music, fun and games. A HUGE SHOUTOUT to the many parents & staff who assisted in making sure that this night ran successfully: with many people helping, no job was too big for any one person.
Research shows that the most successful schools engage students, parents, carers and the community as partners in supporting student learning and wellbeing. There is overwhelming evidence that parent engagement has a positive effect on student achievement.
We invite all parents and carers to attend the Term 1 Parent Teacher Interviews to be held at Bottle Tree Hall on Monday 24 March 2025. Please click on the link below to make your booking!

On Monday afternoon, eleven eager swimmers travelled to Toowoomba to participate in the Inner Downs trials for swimming. Everyone waited patiently for their turn to swim, some students waiting until just on dark to race. Congratulations to Chad, Isaac and Brodie who have made the Inner Downs Swimming Team and will travel to Gatton to swim their best and try for a spot on the Darling Downs team. Congratulations to all students that swam: they did a great job and represented Pittsworth State School with pride. Best of luck to those travelling to Gatton for the next level of competition.

The Arts
Choir: All students in year one to year six are invited to participate in school choir rehearsals every Wednesday in Bottle Tree Hall (starting at 8.00am).
Choir Camp: Thank you to all the parents who have completed online consent and returned forms for this year’s seventh Pittsworth Choir Camp. Choir Camp will be held at the Pittsworth Town Hall from Wednesday 19 March to Friday 21 March (week eight). Participating students have been having fun at regular choir rehearsals on Wednesdays. We are also holding extra rehearsals every THURSDAYat first break in the Art Room for the Choir Camp kids. Thank you to the wonderful parents on the P & C who are giving such great support to our kids attending Choir Camp and a very special thanks to the lovely Mums who have volunteered to supervise our Pittsworth singers for the three days - Mrs Stephens, Mrs Cameron and Mrs Rauchle. We also need help to assemble bags (with shirts, pencils and songbooks) on Friday 14 March at 12.00pm. Please contact Beth Wheeldon if you are able to help out.
HELP NEEDED! For Choir Camp, we will be borrowing the choir risers (tiered metal stands) from Millmerran State School. These risers can be folded up and transported in a small truck, large ute or vehicle with trailer. Volunteers are needed to collect the choir risers from Millmerran and return them after the Choir Camp concert. Please contact Beth Wheeldon as soon as possible if you are able to assist with transporting the choir risers.
Visual Arts: Students from prep to year six continue to impress with their skill development and concentration during visual arts lessons. Check out some of the talent in Art Room in the attached photos!
Art Club: Students in year four, five and six who are keen to collaborate on group artworks for our exhibition are invited to attend Art Club. The Art Room will be open for Art Club every Friday during term one: 8.30am - 8.50am and 11.00am – 11.40am. So far this term we have had fun creating rainforest vines, leaves and rocks for our exhibition at the beginning of term two!
CGEN 2025: Rehearsals for our Pittsworth Cluster CGEN Massed Choir have begun! Thank you to Mrs Dillmann, Mrs Greenwood and Mrs Sacagio for helping out at our rehearsals. Emily G travelled to Brisbane on 23 February to attend a call-back audition for Featured Vocalist. Although unsuccessful this time around, Emily demonstrated her impressive voice and has now joined the Massed Choir.
A massive thanks to Miss Chenyl who accompanied our budding CGEN dancers at their audition in Brisbane last Saturday – Dacian, Charlotte, Matilda, Zara, Carly.
Tuckshop is open Wednesdays and Fridays. Orders can be placed through the Qkr! app and close at 8.30am.
We are in desperate need of helpers in the Tuckshop! On Fridays we need two volunteers to help Karla, our Tuckshop convenor. Thank you to the people that have already put their name down. If you think you could possibly spare a few hours on a Friday morning, please contact Karla in the Tuckshop or email psssecretary@outlook.com
What volunteering in the tuckshop looks like…
2.5 hrs of your time. 9:00 – 11:30am (or longer if you wish)
It is that easy and the time will fly! Unfortunately, we will have to reduce our menu options if we aren’t able to get Friday volunteers.
Fancy Dress Ball
What a fantastic night! Thank you to all of the families that attended our ball, making it such a successful night!
Art Show
Our next big event, the school Art Show is coming up on Friday 2 May. Students have been very busy in their Art lessons creating their own pieces for the show. Keep your eyes peeled for further information.
Book Club
Reminder: Book Club Orders close 20 March.
VOLUNTEERS – MANDATORY TRAINING
There is a small amount of mandatory training that must be completed in order to volunteer at school. It is quite quick to complete (10-15 minutes). Please sign the form at the back and return to the school office.
NEXT P&C MEETING
A Special Meeting will be held at 6.15pm on Thursday 13 March in the Pittsworth Function Centre to formally appoint our 2025 Auditor. This will be followed by our March general meeting at 6.30pm.
