Staying Engaged and Attending Right Through Term 4
As we move into the final term of the school year, it’s important that we maintain our strong focus on attendance and engagement. Every day at school counts — not just for learning, but for staying connected with friends, teachers, and our school community.
Term 4 is full of exciting learning opportunities and special events, and we want every student to make the most of them. Consistent attendance helps students finish the year with confidence and sets them up for a smooth start in 2026.
Thank you for continuing to support your child’s learning by ensuring they attend school regularly and arrive on time each day. Together, we can make this a positive and productive finish to the school year!
Planning for the 2026 School YearAs we begin planning for the 2026 school year, it’s important for us to have the most up-to-date information about our student numbers and class groupings.
If your family is moving, changing schools, or your circumstances are likely to change in 2026, please let the school know as soon as possible. This information helps us plan effectively for staffing, class placements, and resources to best support all students.
Your early communication makes a big difference — thank you for helping us prepare for another successful year at Pittsworth State School!
We are currently processing Prep 2026 Enrolments.

Year 6 Camp
Our Year 6 camp was a fantastic experience. After nearly 4 hours of travelling, we finally arrived at our first amazing activity, Tree Top Challenge – tree climbing challenges and ziplining. Although a little nerve wracking, it was a blast.
Soon after we arrived at QCCC Mapleton, we began the activities where we engaged in team building, canoeing – a great activity to cool down after the hot sun with lots of splashing and laughing. The Bush Tucker activity was, along with many other things, where we were taught what plants you can and cannot eat. It was very educational, yet fun. Archery was fantastic, it was surprising how many of us got bullseyes, hit the moving target or the balloon. This activity was a great experience.
Our wonderful teachers organised a trivia session for our last night, which of course brought out the competitiveness in everyone. While we were waiting for the results, we had a squat challenge which Matilda won. Adding an extra 5 points to her team (girl power) this helped them win the trivia and go to bed winners.
On our way home we visited Australia Zoo. This was so fun. We saw loads of animals and a tiger show, had lunch while we watched the croc show. The croc show was brilliant.
We would all like to thank our families for supporting us going to camp. We can assure you that it is greatly appreciated. Lastly, on behalf of year 6 we would like to thank Miss Will, Mrs Stevens and Mr Santsingh for taking time away from their families to come on this amazing trip with us and for making it all happen.

Homework Centre for Years 3-6 students
The Department of Education has funded our Homework Centre for another 12 months for which we are truly grateful. Homework is an important part of every child’s education but finding time to help children get their homework done can be a challenge for busy families. Homework Centres provide a supervised and suitable learning environment in which students can complete their homework before they go home.
Mrs Fletcher and Miss Edwards manage our Homework Centre each Wednesday from 3pm – 4.15pm in the Library for students in Years 3-6.
If you would like your child to attend Homework Centre, please contact a member of the Admin Team or email admin@pittsworthss.eq.edu.au

Student Support Services
Student Support Services Team
It has been a busy start to the term for the student support services staff, with the key priority for Term 4 being around school transition.
All students from Year 6 who are moving to Pittsworth SHS for Year 7 in 2026, will be taking part in high school transition sessions towards the end of term, while SWD’s in Year 6 will be offered some additional high school transition visits which will be taking place in Weeks 4-6. Permission forms for these visits will be sent home to parents over the coming days.
Prep transition sessions are also taking place during Term 4 and the student support team staff are more than happy to answer any questions you may have around the support services that can be accessed here at Pittsworth SS.
Finally, as I begin the role as Head of Special Education Services (HoSES) at Pittsworth SS and across 4 other schools in the cluster, it has been a joy to witness the wonderful levels of care, professionalism and support shown by all of the wonderful teachers, teacher-aides and staff across the school as every student reaches their full potential, every day!
If you have any questions or would like additional information regarding the support services that are on offer here at Pittsworth SS, or would like to discuss the individual learning needs of your child, please feel free to contact me via email jmcca133@eq.edu.au or call 4619 333.
I look forward to working with you over the coming weeks and months!
